The Metropolitan Police Department seeks the public's assistance in identifying and locating a person of interest in reference to an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife) incident which occurred in the 1700 block of Lamont Street, NW

The Metropolitan Police Department is seeking the public's assistance as they attempt to identify and locate a man wanted in connection to a stabbing in Northwest DC earlier this week.

Police say that shortly before 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13, the man - who was caught on camera - approached his victim in the 1700 block of Lamont Street NW, where he assaulted them with a knife and fled the scene.

In a newly released video, the suspect can be seen pulling up a hood before jogging away from the area. The victim was taken to a local hospital by first responders for treatment of undisclosed non-life-threatening injuries.

No information about a possible motive has been released by the police.

The incident remains under investigation.
